Asked 2 local assoc what they thought of the HK protests. One said "I don't know about it really" and said not a word until the subject passed. The other said "I think the [CN] gov't is being very nice. You know, 20 years ago in BJ they used military tanks against protesters. No one has been hurt or killed in HK." (Well yes, I guess we do need to be thankful for that.) She followed up w what many articles seem to say is the general mainland view: "HK people have so much better than here, they should be happy."
